Twelve Moons Hall
"A healthy social life is found only when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection."
Home sweet home to all the general membership! The building has seven floors total, excluding the basement, which is uncultivated terrain at the moment besides the laundry room. Each floor of Twelve Moons Hall is a home to a different Sect, and there are stairways at either end of the halls that leads up to the next floor.
The largest rooms are towards the east of each Sect hall, where the offices and apartments of the Sect Command are located. These office / apartments are "L" shaped, where the front door opens into an office space. There is a short hallway to the left of the office that leads down to the living area, bathroom and bedroom. Basic furniture in the style of the apartment furnishings listed below is provided for the offices, but the decorative palate is left for each of the Sect Command member's discretion.
The rest of the apartments on the floor are for the general membership. All apartments are the same size and furnished equally regardless of rank from Raido to Jara. So, unless a member achieves a Sect Command post or is transferred to another Sect, they will never have to move out of their room as a result of a promotion.
All apartments at the Alliance include the following basic qualities and items, which can be arranged in the three room (living area, bedroom, bathroom) apartments any way they wish:
Stone walls, and a stone hearth for building a fire
A series of oil lanterns affixed to the walls to provide light
Oak wood flooring
A matching desk and chair
A matching couch and two chairs for a sitting area
A matching book case, cabinet, and wardrobe
A queen-size bed
A wood burning iron stove
All furnishings are in the Ikea Dark Ages Rural Retro style - the oak wood arms, legs, tops, doors, etc. are all thickly and strongly built, and made to look a bit rough around the edges. Both the floors and the furniture are stained a pleasant cherry red, and the cushioning on all the furniture is a straw-colored wheat gold. These rooms can be added to, painted or decorated any way the member pleases, but please warn the Speaker and Advocate before any major construction takes place!
Finally, any member needs to know what floor they're climbing too! Below is a list of all five Sects and their matching floors - hopefully one day all these Sects will be open for membership!
First Floor - Sect of the Harvest Moon
Second Floor - Sect of the Blood Moon
Third Floor - Sect of the Hunters' Moon
Fourth Floor - Sect of the Thunder Moon
Fifth Floor - Sect of the Barley Moon Hall
Sixth Floor - Empty Rooms (at the moment)
So what's on the top floor, you ask? The Hall of the Full Stomach, home to the Windseer kitchens as well as the dining area, complete with tables and settings to eat to your heart's content. It's always a surprise, to say the least!
The Lift
The Lift is the brainchild of the Ansur of the Thunder Moon, Brayden Parish. It is built on the outside of the Member's Hall, allowing access to each Sect hall, and the Full Stomach kitchen. Large enough to hold a dozen people at once, the Lift is an alternative way for the members to get to each floor when the stairs would be difficult. Like for moving in, transporting big things, or even sheer laziness!
The carriage used in the lift is ten feet long and five feet wide, with plenty of overhead for even the tallest of members. Its framework constructed of wrought iron, wood paneling closing in all but one side to a height of five feet, so people wouldn't topple out! The wood flooring is thicker and sturdier, to hold the weight of those inside. The double wide door of the lift is designed to be lifted upward, keeping the passengers enclosed until they were prepared to board, or get off the lift.
The operating mechanism is a single switch on the inside of the lift. Depending on the direction the lever was pulled the lift would commence motion. Up brought the lift down from where it was, while pulling it down would cause the lift to rise up the side of the building.
